The Ohio Cave Survey (OCS) was incorporated in the State of Ohio on June 24th, 2020 as a non-profit corporation. The fiscal year was set to coincide with the calendar year, so it runs January 1st to December 31st. The Articles of Incorporation (i.e., the Constitution) and the Bylaws are available on the Documents page accessed from the Information page of this website. All persons and organizations who joined during 2020 were adopted as "Charter" members.
OCS applied for "501(c)(3)" tax-exempt status with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service on July 21st, 2020. After several reviews, our exempt status was granted on November 2nd, 2020. Per IRS procedures, our exempt status was made retro-active to the day following our date of incorporation: June 25th, 2020.
The OCS Executive Committee governs the Ohio Cave Survey. This Board of Directors is comprised of eight directors elected annually for one-year terms, as provided by the Bylaws. The Officers of the OCS are elected annually by and from these directors. The Board then consists of:

- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Four (4) Directors-at-Large
